Caravan

jaisalmer-79

In the evening, after touring the fort, we looked around
and found an amazing local opportunity, an option to
ride camels to the SAM dunes to watch the sun set.
We had to do it.
On our way out we saw some camels getting dolled up
for someone else's adventure, so beautiful and exotic,
just out side out hotel doors.

We drove away from the city into the dessert to meet up
with our camels and guides.
Getting on and off a camel is one hilarious experience.
The back goes up first, front up last. Then the front goes down
first, back last. Sitting on top being tilted almost vertical
trying to stay on. So strange. Then we rode through the
dessert to the Dunes, the heat had subsided and the temp was,
for once, pleasant.

We then parked our rides and watched the sun
creep down to the horizon. Some local musicians came
to perform and add ambiance. I couldnt believe I was
there enjoying such a unique experience.

Then we trekked back in the light of dusk.
What an evening, Reece said that it had to be among
the top 10 of his life, I felt the same.
