Alohamora: HP6

{Alohamora being the only spell that I can remember go here and look
for your favorite}

On the opening day of the new Harry Potter and the Half
Blood Prince we had ourselves an official Hogwarts
celebration feast and one hilarious HP photo booth jubilee.
I love getting into themes, throwing parties, and being
totally excited for a movie....so this magical evening was just
my thing. Our feast was complete with butter beer, pumpkin
juice, lemon garlic and thyme chicken drumsticks, sweet
potato swirled with regular white mashed potatoes, black
berry demi glaze, homemade butter flake rolls, and
butternut squash and cinnamon soup. All toped off with
miniature pies al a mode.

{everyone got their own Felix Felicis luck potion
to be used for those opportune moments}
For the photo booth pics I had knitted 2
griffindor scarves to go along with the 1
sorting hat, 2 school girl jackets, 4 pairs
of HP glasses, 1 flying broomstick, 1 creepy
dementor, 1 very real and hyper witch's cat,
3 gilded spell books, and lots of butter beer
in pewter steins to get a little tipsy off of.
{Clarification: butter beer = bottle of
cream soda with a cork in it}

Thanks to you all that got into the
party and made it so fun. And ooooo,
I LOVED the movie.

Helpers {2}

Thank you also to a my sweet husband who has
allowed photography to be such a large
part of our life together. Thank you for
helping find all the right gear, for packing up
and carting all that gear around the world,
for being my translator on our travels,
for taking up photography to be with me,
for helping shoot all those weddings,
for assisting me on so many shoots,
for making all my subjects laugh and
feel comfortable while I was busy figuring out
exposure, for setting up the huge database of
external storage to store and organize all
my images, for making me feel like nothing
is impossible.....thank you, and I love you.
{Us shooting our first wedding, and me on a train
in Japan with all our gear}
{Reece has become such an amazing photographer,
he also has helped so much by relieving me of the
stress of documenting all the places we go perfectly,
so many times Im down trodden because I couldn't
capture something the way I wanted to,
and then Reece shows me the images he got....
and I can relax....my husband can capture beauty..
and it makes me happy}

thanks also to my lil sis for all her help with the
lavender shoot, as well as endlessly playing
the model for me. Oh all those times I would dress you up
and pose you, you are so patient. Im so glad that you
also have taken up photography as well
I always knew you would be a
natural. check out her images here....

Helpers

Thank you Mom and Dad for all your help
in my many photographic ambitions.
From holding reflectors, to holding lights,
to holding props and sitting through
long shoots,
to staying up all night attaching photographs to
Japanese scrolls.
Im where I am because of you.
So good at finding and reflecting that light,
although dad seems
to make my subjects laugh more than usual.

Beautiful Friends + Beautiful Location = Fantastic Fashion Shoot

Thank you ladies! you were all
so wonderful to photograph.
Lavender will always be
glamorous to me from now on.
Kitch helped me be part of the fun
and photographed me
although I didn't feel as glamorous
as all the other gals, it was still
fun, thanks mom and dad for
holding the props and reflector
for my shoot.

Pretty in Periwinkle

For my mother in law's birthday we took her out
for a picnic in the lavender fields at sunset.
It was so dreamy.
There was a little bit of rain in the beginning
but it all provided the most gorgeous clouds
for the sunset and even a rainbow over
our heads as we lounged in the sweet
smelling sea of purple.
I got the menu items at Wild Oats Market (amazing)
-roasted bell pepper, salami, and
rotisserie chicken sandwiches
-Caprese Salad with fresh basil
-Spicy guacamole dip with thick homemade
tortilla chips
-Pistachios
-San Pallegrino
-Mojitos with fresh mint
And I finally got to use the incredibly cute picnic
basket that we got for our wedding. (why we havent
used it before is a mystery)
In the golden light we lit the candle on her birthday
margarita cupcake from Dipidee. We also got to try
a very tasty german chocolate cupcake as well.
Do you see the rainbow in the back of us to the left?
Just perfect.
Happy Birthday Mum!
