Disneydays

So many pictures to choose from, so much fun to tell.

Even though we had a large crowd we all worked well

with each other and had the help of the Griffin team

in the planning and executing of the agenda, so our fun

was maxed, our time waiting in lines minimized, and

we even got in all our favorite treats and eats. Thanks

to a wonderful family for such magical time.

Touring the newly reopened castle. The little diorama

scenes were impressive and even included some

animation. What I loved were the pages of the books

that proceeded the scenes. If they sold a giant book with

all the deckled edges and beautiful illumination I would

probably buy it. All in all it was very charming.

I was the only adult in our crowd that rode the carousel....

didnt want to miss out. Plus I love carousels they are

so pretty...day and night.

TEA CUPS. if you think riding in one of those cups

makes you dizzy, try taking pictures while in one of those

spinning contraptions....It made me pretty sick. But it

made for some crazy fun pictures where it looks like Im

having fun.

P.S. Im pretty sure I rode these on my very merry unbirthday....

well at least my official half-birthday at least (exactly).

The Matterhorn

the little tinkeling noise you hear when you pass crystals

or jewels on any of the rides. The most magical thing

ever, its always been my favorite.

Small World. It was amazing to see the looks of

pure joy on all my nieces and nephews faces.

Why is Kare-Bear wearing sunglasses?.... little too bright?

Space Mountain. Reece was trained to become

a jedi the ol' fashioned way.....with yoda on his back.

Splash Mountain. Again, expressions of pure joy on

all the faces....at least until the big drop where looks of

complete terror swept over the chilins faces....and then

looks of regret on the soaking wet adults....thats the price

you pay for wanting front seat!

Pirates! and dinner at the Blue Bayou....my

favorite....havent been there for more then 10 years...it

was just as wonderful as I remembered.

one of my oldest memories of disneyland.....riding under

that dirty old foot! anyone else know what Im talking

about?

First time to Tom Sawyer's Island. I have to admit

I chilled more than I explored...but Karin blew my mind

where do you get that energy, and where can I buy it?

Jungle Cruise, its been a long time....which was probably a

good thing as I laughed at all the jokes....they all seemed

new to me.


The only Disney prince around....I prefer my own prince

charming though.

Have been home from the family trip

to Disneyland and Santa Barbara

for awhile now, but been sifting through

the thousands of pictures that were taken

trying to choose the ones that capture the

fun we all had the best,

Wild

{Here is a glimpse into what I get to drive/walk by every day.

This is one of the advantages of living so close to so many

open, and wild, fields....wildflowers. They are so gorgeous!

Just little serendipitous patches everywhere that bring a smile

to my face every time. Just a wonderful example of the little joys

God chooses to put into our live....Im so glad I noticed....}

Tame

{Speaking of blooms...here are a few

of the flower arrangements that I had

endless fun creating for various gifts

in the last couple months or so.

I love generating flower creations, so

many opportunities to conjure up something

out of nothing, but just temporary enough

that I don't have shelves full of past

arrangements that make me feel guilty for

moving on to a new look....or experimentation }

Art in Bloom

This year Im totally into festivals. There is such much fun

to be had. In May Kitch and I went to the Art in Bloom

Festival held at the UMFA (good memories of my wedding

reception...), there all the best florists in the state chose a

painting or sculpture and created a floral arrangement that

coincides with that piece of art. I was spectacular, all the artistic

talent overwhelmed me. It was so interesting to see each florist's

interpretation of the art that they had chosen. Some did similar

colors, or similar shapes, some did flowers that were from that culture,

others did visual metaphors. I applaud their creativity and ingenuity.

Me with the renaissance duo, my favorite because of the colors

texture, and size. Next was greek mythology with a modern twist.

That second piece was very thought out as everything incorporated

in the arrangement, even its location, was symbolic. The dried flowers

and pods arranged in a horizontal manner represent death, an idea

further enforced as the dried section of the arrangement was pointing

towards a sarcophagus. The dried flowers slowly fade to fresh flowers

as well as gradually start to be arranged vertically signifying life rising

from the dead. Peacock feathers an ancient symbol of immortality/

resurrection along with the "living" section of the arrangement pointing

towards a standing figure, clearly communicate the florists strong belief

in an life after death and resurrection. Below on the pedestal was a

beautifully written testimony of how the florist was grateful for her faith

and the hope it brings her of one day being able to see her loved ones

that have passed on.

Thanks Kitch for sharing all this with me. Afterwards we

had a tasty lunch complete with orange tea and a floral cupcake.

{Loved how the cafe was named The F/stop cafe and had

polaroids for table numbers, perfect}

While walking out we noticed a very fun craft happening, after

inquiring we found out that it was the 3rd saturday children's

activity. Since I love crafting in all its various forms and couldn't

miss a chance to take part, we asked it we could possibly qualify

as children...maybe if we slouched....and begged a little....so they said

why not? So we got to create our very own moss and flower terrarium.

Though the flowers were too big to create a true covered terrarium

we were brought back to our florist days and arranged away.

Kate's is the bloomer and mine is the mushroom patch. What fun!

Favorite Things Day

One lovely spring day, after sleeping in, I called

my baby sis to see if she was busy.

She said no, and we thought of all the fun things

we could do as our plan for the day.

First, a sushi lunch at happy sumo, throughly

enjoying the flavors of my new favorite roll.

Sweet pea roll, tuna, avocado, lime juice, & honey.

Second, Cupcakes at So Cupcake.

Blueberry, Red Velvet, Mocha, and milk.

Third, a photo shoot in the long swaying grasses

growing in the fields just outside my house.

The grass is only this green for a few weeks before

it dries out into a brittle yellow for the rest of

the summer.
