Our annual Culture Club Christmas Craft exchange.
This year the crafts included: crocheting scarves,
paper rossette/pin wheel garlands, jewelry making,
and mini pies in jars.
To make the pies in jars: line the mini mason jar with pie crust dough,
(we used frozen rolled out strips to be fast) fill with canned pie
filling (we used cherry, lemon, and blueberry... but I also dream of
peach, peacan, and pumpkin), top off with more dough (make sure
there is a ventilation hole... we used a small cookie cutter for a
fun shaped hole.... or a lattice top is good), brush top with melted,
butter, sprinkle with sugar, then screw lid on. On the lid we put
cooking instructions. (Bake for about 50-60 minutes,
or until the tops are golden brown and the middles are
bubbly. If you’re baking them fresh and not frozen they take
about 45 minutes)... the pies can be frozen for a latter time
or cooked right away. They are a GREAT holiday gift idea.
