Cambodia Part III

Once again we woke up at 4 am to photograph another monument

at sunrise, Angkor Wat. This time though, everything turned out

beautifully. The sun rises over the towers in November, but the position

of the sun while we were there was still beautiful for photographs.

And once again, I was absolutely in love with the clouds.

The golden light of sunrise was stunning on the temples. The yellow

ball in the background is an air balloon that is tethered to a rope and

takes people up and down to see an Arial view of the complex.

We took a break during the day and went swimming at our

hotels amazing pool. Cute lil frogs all around.

I was lucky enough to talk Reece into letting me get a 2 hr

massage with orange blossom oils for only $20. Felt sooooo good.

Then we returned to Angkor Wat for an afternoon tour.

By this time on our trip the bugs in this tropical climate

had found me out and were having a feast. I drenched myself

in deet this particular afternoon and boy that stuff is strong.

I had rested my leg on the wheel cover on the tuk tuk that we

rode into the complex and when we got off, the deet had melted the

green paint which then smeared all over my leg. The tuk tuk driver

didnt believe that it was paint from his tuk tuk till after inspecting

it for a long while & finally yelled out to us that he finally thought I was

right and started laughing.

We entered Angkor Wat behind a beautiful and elaborate

wedding party. The bride and groom where in matching

violet and the bridesmaids in orange and red. wow. Looks like

the lilly pond we took pictures over in the morning was also cleaned

out for the event.

Boo to the green scaffolding that was covering the front center

of the main building. I tried my best to hide it in all my pics.

It was hard to take pictures without people in them. More people were

touring the sights in Cambodia then there were in most of the sights

we visited in India. I worked hard for those empty shots.

We then ate dinner at a famous diner in town called the red piano.

We watched a world cup contender game while eating

and the view outside the balcony of the restaurant was incredible.

The saturated colors of the sunset mixed with the neon lights

(then shot using daylight and Fluorescent WB) equalled

a scene straight out of a movie set.
