Days Out {part 1}

Along with the good times we had at the house we were

busy busy with excursions to some very intriguing activities

and locations.

-Italian Sidewalk chalk festival at the Santa Barbara

Mission

-Summer Arts and Crafts Fair at Chase Palm Park

-Natural History Museum with an amazing butterfly room

-The Sea Center on the wharf

-The Santa Barbara Zoo

We got to go a couple times... once while the drawings were

being drawn as we enjoyed a nice picnic of caprese salad,

rotisserie herbed chicken, lemonata, and gilotto....and then

the second when the drawings were finished and nice tour

of the inside of the mission afterwards. The theme was

Italian art but there were so many different kinds of styles

and imagary. One thing for sure, though, the artists were

extremely talented. Beautiful.

The Craft fair was inspiring, I loved seeing so much creativity.

It made me want to dive into all my raw materials and create.

My favorite booth was the wind chime booth, all the chimes

were harmonious... cut to create notes in the same major scale.

They sounded so beautiful in the sea breeze.

The sun came out just while we were entering the butterfly

room warming all the surfaces and wings. A few of us got

some very friendly landings.

There was a photography exhibit at the museum that

was incredible. Photographs of small groupings of consumer

products to create a whole much larger picture. The images

were so clear and sharp, and an amazing attention to detail.

-Soda Cans

-Brown paper bags

-100 dollar bills

(interesting commentary on the mass amounts of

consumption that occurs daily in our country)

A couple jobs that my husband knew would be dream jobs

for me. My favorite animals being otters, river or sea, but

little fluffy monkeys are pretty high up there too.
